Four Years of ProLost

Today.

Four years ago I started this blog. At the time I worried that it would either be a big mistake, an abandoned project, or unappreciated.

The vote's not fully in yet, but I don't think it's any of those three things. And that is, of course, entirely due to you, the reader. Like playwright Edward Albee, I write to find out what I'm thinking. Knowing that you'll read it, ponder it, call me out on my bullshit, and challenge me to think harder makes me do this.

So thanks. Until I lose interest in thinking, I might just keep writing this thing—but only because you make it worthwhile.

Who took who where Frank?

If you are very very lucky, you might someday get to work alongside one of your heroes.

If you are truly blessed that hero might become a mentor.

I have no idea what comes after that, but it might be something like this:

Stu Maschwitz Takes Me to School

Frank Miller has been teaching me about filmmaking with his images since before I bought my first set of Rapidographs. I am humbled by his words. Thank you buddy.

The Spirit Teaser on MTV.com

I've been working on this little Frank Miller movie called The Spirit for a while now, and now you can finally get a peak at it! Frank premiered it at Comicon New York this week, and now it's at MTV.com, in HD even. See it there along with interviews with Frank and Eva Mendes, who plays Sand Saref in the film.
