Man, I would love to work for the Orphanage, but I'm kinda locked into a mortgage here in Chicago for the next couple years. I'll keep dreaming til then.
BTW, I saw "The Host" last week at the Chicago Film Festival, Which parts did you guys work on? Can you do a blog about it? It was a really great movie.

There's some good links to articles about "The Host" written by Animation Supervisor Webster Colcord here: http://www.myspace.com/webstercolcord

The O did basically all the FX in the film including and especially "the creature!"

Hey Stu, here is my question again:
do you work with offcite freelance artists? lets say matte painters?
I hope ill get an answer here...

All O employment questions should go to recruiting[at]theorphanage[dot]com ZoranC!

Well Stu, i sent the mail and if thats the case i will never get the answer on that simple question... Having a personal contact on a forum or lets say this blog is the only way to get some info, mailing to the oficial "job" mail will never get you info since you ( the company ) never return your mails... belive me, i have tried:)

ZoranC, I'm sorry to hear that you've had trouble getting your questions answered. Our recruiting department will not ignore a propely submitted reel/portfolio from any qualified matte painter though, so send them your stuff, and make it clear that you're only available for offsite freelance work. I'm not promising you'll hear back, but I do promise that your material will be reviewed.

Thanks Stu, i appreciate your responce...
I just wanted an answer on that since most of the companies dont work remoptely, but i gues ill folow your advice and submit my portfolio...
The thing is that when i dont hear back from the company im not shure if it is because im an ocean away or because they dont like my work :)
Thanks again and sorry for the trouble...
