Epic Movie
I’m in New Zealand with Mike Seymour and John Montgomery shooting with their new Epic M. Anything more I could say about that is probably better expressed by this video, shot by John:
Mike has an ongoing thread going on reduser about his first Epic experiences, and is updating his Dean’s Blog over at fxphd. I’ll have some thoughts on the camera soon, but for now, suffice it to say that RED picked the right name for it.
I thought Mike needed a behind-the-scenes shot as nice as the one John got of me, so I grabbed this on our afternoon run:

West Coast of the South Island?
Well spotted!
That looks like the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Do we get to see the footage?
I know this post is about shooting w/ Red MX, but can you talk a bit about the gyro and pogo stick you have underneath the camera for helicopter shooting?

Yes i'm also interested in informations about the Gyro and pogo stick
It's a rental from Tyler. I believe Mike goes into more detail in the reduser thread.
Great views Stu, looks like you had awesome fun playing with heavy duty film toys. I am guessing all was shot with high FPS 96 or so to really get that smooth feel after slowdown to 24p. Hope to hear your thoughts on the EPIC soon maybe on RC!
BTW I just watched an hour's worth of Colorista II of the tortellini correction that was the best demo in terms of selling the product Ive ever seen. But now Its gone, seems it was a file-name error on the site that pulled it.
I'll consider myself lucky to have seen it. Thanks!
Hi James, thanks for the kind words! Fret not, the tortellini video is most assuredly not gone, it's right here, where it's always been.
