Rebel Mac

And so it begins. I will be speaking about The Guide at Peachpit's booth at Macworld Expo San Francisco at noon on January 10th, 2007—the first of many such appearances. I'll have my MacBook Pro and will demonstrate some of the post-production techniques from the book.

Peachpit will be in the South Hall of the Moscone Center, right between Adobe and Apple (sweet). Download a map of the South Hall in PDF form.

If you can stop playing with your new iFone™ long enough, I hope you'll stop by!

To help you keep track of Rebel events, I've created a Google calendar which you can view or subscribe to. There's a nifty button for this way down the page on the right.

(I know this is kinda lame, but if the shipping delays are real, this might be a good way for Bay Area folks to get their hands on The Guide sooner than later. I can't imagine Peachpit would hold this event without some copies for sale at the booth!)

Right On Man!!

Perfect timing as that's the day we're going to be there (also attending the FCP event that night).

I am sure they will have many copies of The Guide. Last year they had a big table with stacks and stacks of many of their books.

We're really looking forward to this! Thanks for the good news!!!

Damn. I wish I could make it down for that as I got word from Amazon that my book won't be shipping until March 10th. Drag cakes.

I have been in touch with the Editor in Chief of Peachpit today, and she doubts the Amazon March claims are real. Come January 2 we'll get this sorted out. In the meantime, please feel free to call your local bookstore and ask them to cary the book! I was just at Borders and they had about half a dozen how-to-make-a-movie books, and they seemed a bit out-of-date. They mentioned something about some weird substance called "film." Must be something that builds up on a DV camera's record heads?

Well i'm glad to hear that their timeframe should be incorrect. I'm just a poor writer/editor/director who loves After Effects, so I think I'll just wait for your book.

Hey gang,

Any clue where the clueless can pick up a free Macworld Expo floor pass? If so, please clue me in at:

bruce at landsendproductions dot com.

Thanks.
