Brilliant! Absta-frakking-lootly brilliant!
I doff my hat to you, Stu!
Thanks for posting this Stu! I will be using this technique for sure!
Good stuff.
Heh. I did this very same thing a couple of weeks ago. It just came to me during the shoot. In fact, one of the other guys photographed me doing it, because he thought I looked ridiculous....

Hey thanks Stu and all, that was so simple and effective - sometimes we rely on having the bigger toys to pull of a simple shot (my bad) thanks for the refresh
That's genius.
I still prefer swinging from a hammock a la Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.
wow, that's pretty clever. Instant production value for a no budget video!
Man, this is great stuff. What a simple way to make those shots. "simplicity".
I also liked how the video was done, edited, how it gives us the information.
Tried it and it works really nicely! Thanks for posting Stu.
used it yesterday, with a "wow it looks lite the camera is flying" from the client when he saw the playback,
thanks
Yeah - great trick. I bet someone will come up with a homebrew rig that's a variant on that trick - like a monopod on a hinge.
That's just one of those things that you just wanna smack yourself for not thinking of because it's so simple. Great stuff!

I wish I had a nice enough tripod for that...
I just tried with a low end Bogen tripod and DVX100a without my wide adaptor on and it works as advertised. It's pretty easy and stable as well. Best tip in years...
LOL!!!!!! This is so ghetto but it's brilliant. Use a super wide angle lens adapter to hide the jitters. :)
