Secondary Color Correction

Steve Hullfish, author of The Art and Technique of Digital Color Correction, has created an excellent tutorial on performing secondary corrections in Apple's Color.

Great tutorial, that clarifies a lot (though it moves a little slow for my taste, it was easy to grasp).

I'm still avoiding Color until it's easier to go back & forth from FCP. I can see its place on a film, that won't be edited further after release; my workflow is a lot of corporate spots and docs that are always being re-packaged. I can't imagine the frustration of having to round-trip from Color.

What do you think? Is it worth doing, when tools like Colorista get much of that done inside Final Cut?

Hey Stu

Cool post, makes me want to upgrade my computer and final cut studio to number 2. How effective do you think secondaries would be on dv or hdv footage, have not had that much luck with this method in other programs pulling keys and then doing secondaries etc. I wonder what colour space Steve's footage was.

great information, but sheesh - what's with the ultra-low-rez? it makes it practically unwatchable.

hey andy! fancy meeting you here!
