You may now return to your usual degree of dissatisfaction with Quicktime "Pro."
The easiest way to support Prolost is to begin your Amazon, iTunes, Mac App Store, Zacuto or B&H shopping here. You can drag those links to your bookmarks bar so you never forget. It costs you nothing and it really helps. Thanks!

As Apple keeps growing they start forgetting the pros... The "Pro" in Quicktime is a joke anyway, so why not build a "real" pro version of quicktime without all the consumer stuff? And please Apple, build a nicely working version for windows.
A very sad mess indeed.
Agreed 100%. I did an article about the hassles of quicktime really being a consumer focused product at this point. I wanted to be harsher towards Apple in the article, but I was simply exhausted from dealing with workarounds.
I'd love to collaborate on a white paper on why we both love and loathe QuickTime. Well...at least I think maybe Stu loves it at times. ;)
I found that this article gave a pretty nice summary of the pros and cons of working with QT.
Lots of it has already been covered here, but it's nice to have it all in one place.
