I really think I love that idea.

And Stu, since I recently started following your blog I added it as a syndicated feed on LiveJournal - I hope you don't mind: it makes it easy for me to keep up with and other people may find it interesting and useful as well! hey guys what exactly is the benefit of a timecode slate how do you sync it up without a clap like the traditional slate. Dont really know how it works

This guy was shooting a music video, so in this case the timecode is how he synced up the performances to the song. He's playing the song back on the iPod, and as long as he points the camera at the screen once per take he knows how to sync the footage to the track.

I used a laptop on my last one to sync to. Just hold it up for a frame or two. So easy, I'd do it this way again in a second, and having the same quicktime become the basis for the edit really helped. The laptop was nice and bright too
