HVX200 + M2 + Magic Bullet = Good

Cassidy Bisher of Motivity Pictures posted some cool footage on dvinfo.net. They shot with the Panasonic HVX200 with the Redrock M2 lens adaptor, and processed the footage with Magic Bullet's Look Suite. That's pretty much the ideal DV Rebel filmmaking recipe to me!

Awesome stuff. If you dig in the forum, there's a few other http://www.motivitypictures.com/the_last_dorito_web.mov">gems from them posted.

I'm sold on the shallow DOF an adapter gets you. My challenge is to sell that cost to my group - not everyone is as into the 'film aesthetic' as I am.

What are your thoughts on this as a cheap green screen camera? A friend wants to shoot some footage for a test ad and probably doesnt have the budget for a full 4:4:4 camera - any thoughts for cheapy stuff that won't take away from the rest of the ad? (all cg based car ad)

Hi Stu,

I'm also one of your students from fxphd. This is not related to class though. I am trying to achieve the shallow DOF for my HVX200, and am wondering if you would still recommend the Red Rock M2? I noticed the post about the HVX200 was dated back in 2006...

Thanks so much!
